Demery

I LOVE senior portrait season because of all the fantastic ideas that roll in. Demery found a train yard in Loveland that, despite anthills and thistles, turned out to be one of the coolest shooting locations I've visited in a while. In addition to being extremely photogenic, Demery had no objections to climbing dirty train cars in heels. Totally my kind of girl.

Trixie & Ryan's Country Wedding

Trixie and Ryan's first meeting was one of those inauspicious occasions that make a person believe in fate: Ryan spotted her in a Conoco station in Castle Rock, and promised himself that if he ever saw her again, he'd ask her out. Another chance meeting in a grocery store later, Trixie agreed to the date - the end result being, of course, that Trixie's full name is now Trixieta Putri Maheshvari Kartiarso Tedford. The wedding was held on a farm in Castle Rock, where we got to shoot amidst general farm-animal noises, I fell in love with the old barn, and just about everyone in the wedding party stepped in horse poo at some point during the shoot. Speaking of that appetizing subject, I also got a chance to use my training in food photography at the cake buffet. Overall, it was a great, great day and a wonderful time was had by all. Thanks to Ryan and Trixie for your humor and adventurous spirit, and to Ladybird Poppy, my very favorite Colorado florist.

What a sky!

There's one really great thing about the insane weather we've been having... the sky!!! We got rained on a little bit yesterday, but it was worth it to catch these amazing clouds for Carrie & Larry's engagement shoot (and yes, that's a real rainbow)!

An Overdue Family Portrait...

The Lehmans live all over the world (Colorado, Mexico, Texas...) but had a little reunion for Ric and Joy's anniversary on July 5th, and asked me if I could do an "overdue" family portrait for them! We had an amazing time laughing, jumping, and laying in the grass (oh, and drinking wine :) ). My husband, who assisted me on the shoot, commented afterwards, "I hope when we have kids, they all like each other that much." Thanks Abby, Becca, Tucker, Ric and Joy for an amazing afternoon!

Sigh...

Meet Leesha and Chad, who are in love and not afraid to show it! They're both "dramatic types" - meaning they're used to the stage - and, in fact, Chad proposed to Leesha while actually on a stage, after playing a song he wrote for her. Too cute, right?
